Marine Mufflers & Silencers Installation Procedures

ALL CONNECTIONS SECURED WITH (2) HOSE CLAMPS
|

All components are for wet exhaust systemsONLY.
-
Ideally, components should be installed a minimum of two feet downstream from the point of cooling water injection.
-
Continuous operating temperature should be less than 200° F for optimum system life.
-
Components should be supported for entire length of system.
-
All components must be isolated from vibration with approved marine exhaust hose and double hose clamped at each connection.
-
Lubricate hoses with water or liquid detergent only.
-
Silencers and check valves should be installed as close to level as possible. A slight system slope aft is preferred.
-
Exhaust outlets should be above the loaded water line.
-
All procedures should conform to ABYC standards and recommended practices for small craft.

Naqualifts should be installed as close to the centerline of vessel as possible.
-
Have top of Naqualift at least 12"e; below the exhaust manifold.

Isolate all components from vibration with approved marine exhaust hoses and clamps. Lubricate hoses with water or liquid detergent only.

Below water-line installations require a "e;siphon-break"e; to prevent water flow after shut down.
-
All procedures should conform to ABYC standards and recommended practices for small craft.
